Before the Fall of man...

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it.
Genesis 1:27–28

Before things went haywire after the fall, God assigned Adam and Eve the job of subduing the earth. From whom were they to subdue it? Satan.

You see, from the very beginning, it was as if God said, “This little rock called earth is the place where there is to be a cosmic showdown between Me and Satan. So I’m going to use you, mankind, to partner with Me as part of the process to drive out the Enemy.”

How? By being fruitful and multiplying.

How are you to subdue your earth, your world, or your family which seems to be in the grasp and grip of the Enemy? By being fruitful.

Because the fruit of the Spirit is love (Galatians 5:22), and because love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8), you’ll be fruitful if you don’t criticize, gossip, or find fault with things, people, or situations. You’ll be fruitful if you speak words of love and peace, patience and gentleness, for such is the fruit of the Spirit.

James talks about the tongue being an instrument of fire (James 3:6). If you find fault with your neighbor, your job, your school, your church, or your family, you will hand your world over to the hellish flames of the Enemy. But if you speak words of affirmation and encouragement, of faith and joy, you will replace the fires of hell with the fruit of heaven.

How do we multiply?

Acts 6:7 tells us the Word of God increased and the number of disciples multiplied when the Word was shared.

If you talk to your kids, your classmates, or your co-workers about the Word, you will see multiplication of life and love. And eventually the world in which you live will be subdued—won back from the Enemy.

Happy New Year!

Blessing gesture that was the inspiration for ...Image via Wikipedia

Happy New Year everyone! I pray that you have a healthy, joyous, new year and that you have success in everything that you do!

I leave you with this blessing!

"The LORD bless you and keep you,the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace." Numbers 6:23-26

Interesting Fact: Blessing gesture that was the inspiration for the Vulcan salute.

"In his autobiography I Am Not Spock, Nimoy wrote that he based it on the Priestly Blessing performed by Jewish Kohanim with both hands, thumb to thumb in this same position, representing the Hebrew letter Shin (ש), which has three upward strokes similar to the position of the thumb and fingers in the salute. The letter Shin here stands for Shaddai, meaning "Almighty (God)". Nimoy wrote that when he was a child, his grandfather took him to an Orthodox synagogue. There he saw the blessing performed and was very impressed by it" Vulcan Salute

This is the Reality of Christmas...

A friend of mine posted this on MySpace and I just wanted to share it with you all...

Happy Thanksgiving

I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone enjoys their day close to family and friends...but instead of having one day, lets be thankful for everyday we are are blessed with! If we can be appreciative and grateful for a few things before starting each day this can help us have a PMA (Positive Mental Attitude). By starting the day with gratitude and appreciation, this can set a positive mindset that can carry on throughout the day. Which in turn can help the atmosphere around you and the people you come in contact with!

Confess

Found this on "YouTube" and I was quite blown away by the quality of the videos. So if you get a chance check out the other videos made by boomya555, some good stuff!

When I say I'm a Chrisitan...

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin'."
I'm whispering "I was lost,
Now I'm found and forgiven."

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
And need His strength to carry on.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
But, God believes I am worth it.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
Who received Gods grace, somehow!

I just wanted to share this poem that I have found...it explains what being a Christian is all about. It shows how we should take a humbling and thankful point of view on becoming a follower of Jesus the Christ, not one of self righteousness.

I used the Bible verse (Matthew 13:43) on my Life of Thomas header because I thought it went well with the picture of the sun shining through the clouds. The only thing that makes me "righteous" was an event that took place around 2000 years ago, an event that changed the world forever! When the perfect sacrifice, the Lamb of God, (sinless) Jesus of Nathareth bore the sin of the world upon himself on the cross. He tore the veil that separated man from God opening up heaven to those who believe. Hallelujah!

Out at Sea!

I went out at sea, over near Cape May, on a friend's boat. He said we were going to go out on the water to see some dolphins. Wow, did we see alot of dolphins! There must of been like twenty or more out there, it's hard to say because people say that dolphins like to follow boats. It could of been a lot of the same ones. Here are some of the pics I was blessed to have taken.

The funny part was I didn't think I get any good pics because it was very bright out there and it was almost impossible to see what I was looking at through the camera. I am very happy to have gotten these pictures, it was a very cool experience! I even got a short movie clip of the dolphin jumping out of the water but it so short, I didn't think it was worth sharing. The LORD had blessed us with this dolphin circus and I am very appreciative! It was great seeing all that beauty out at sea.

Oh and here is the Cape May Lighthouse! The building that you see in front of the lighthouse is not connected to it. The lighthouse actually stands further away in a park called the Cape May Point State Park. The Cape May lighthouse is one of eleven total lighthouses in New Jersey. I hope you enjoyed the pics!
