Preserve Free Speech

Preserve Free Speech on Radio and TV!

We face an imperative issue. The Broadcaster Freedom Act must pass Congress in order to protect the free speech of Christian and conservative broadcasters. We must speak out now to permanently prohibit the Federal Communications Commission and President Obama from reinstating the so-called “Fairness Doctrine,” legislation that would force broadcasters to strike an “even balance” on the issues at their own expense. I find this to be completely unfair, I myself like to watch Christian television and listen to Christian radio. Why should they have to show another perspective? Are they going to show the Christian perspective on all the other channels? I doubt it. If someone doesn't like what they see or hear on the radio or television they can turn the channel, why make this law? The “Fairness Doctrine", doesn't sound very fair to me.

Please, exercise your rights as a concerned citizen and call on Congress to vote on this vitally important legislation, the Broadcaster Freedom Act of 2009 (H.R. 226; S. 34). Refined by Fire!

The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but the Lord tests the heart. [Proverbs 13:3]

Both gold and silver are refined by high heat. The impurities float to the top and are taken out, improving the purity and quality of the metal. In the same way; suffering allows the moral impurities in our character to surface. The heat of hard times is designed to improve us, drawing us closer to the heart of God. When you are facing difficulties, stay strong, and know that through that trial, you will be molded into the person, God wants you to be!

"It is the fire of suffering that brings forth the gold of godliness." -Madame Guyon

Inspirational Video

After watching this video, It really touched my heart, it has brought tears to my eyes. I have realized I will no longer live for myself. Forgive me Lord for I have sinned. Thank you God for sending your Son down to earth to die for all of us sinners. For Lord with out you, we are nothing!

The Inauguration Day Prayer (you won't hear)

This is the prayer you won't hear on Obama's Inauguration. So please pray this for our country instead.

Lord we begin this year with our heads low and our hearts contrite for we have neglected your Word and Commandments. Forgive us Lord for embracing "Change" without repentance. Forgive us for putting "Country First" instead of Christ. Forgive us for worshiping our presidential choice. For promoting pragmatism, and endorsing evil. Forgive us for applauding an Esther (Palin), when she was sign of God's judgment. Remind us that judgment begins at the house of God. Forgive us for putting our tax exempt status before Christ. Forgive us for teaching that God is a God of love but not of justice and wrath. For creating a God in our own image and worshiping him. For preaching peace, peace when there is no peace. Forgive us for loving sinners to death, when God says, He hates the workers of iniquity. Forgive us for taxation (coercion) to fight poverty when the Church should be serving them. Forgive us for making innocent life "above our pay grade." Forgive us for believing "life begins at conception" yet allowing embryo experimentation. Forgive us there can be no financial security until there is security in the womb. Forgive us for rewarding covetousness and greed, and squandering our children's inheritance. Forgive us for decrying socialism (bailouts) while sending our Christian children to socialist schools.Forgive us for railing against gay marriage (which we should) while indulging in pornography and embracing divorce. Forgive us for battling AIDS (which we should) but neglecting the sin often at its root. Forgive us for making global warming an idol. Forgive us Lord and may you use the coming financial storm to judge our idolatry, and make us more reliant on you, not our 401K's. Use the coming tribulation to shake off the rotten fruit of corporate, seeker sensitive mega churches and leave fruit that lasts. Turn the father's hearts to their children, and bring true revival to America. Change is coming. God bless America, In Jesus name, Amen. From the show "Wretched"

An Oasis of Brotherhood

"In King's lifetime, he witnessed the birth of Israel and the continuing struggle to build a nation. He consistently reiterated his stand on the Israel- Arab conflict, stating " Israel's right to exist as a state in security is uncontestable." It was no accident that King emphasized "security" in his statements on the Middle East.

On March 25, 1968, less than two weeks before his tragic death, he spoke out with clarity and directness stating, “peace for Israel means security, and we must stand with all our might to protect its right to exist, its territorial integrity. I see Israel as one of the great outposts of democracy in the world, and a marvelous example of what can be done, how desert land can be transformed into an oasis of brotherhood and democracy."

"I have a dream" for peace in the Middle East John Lewis

Today, Israel's security is at stake yet again. Hamas have been raining down rockets on them from Gaza ever since Israel pulled out in June 2007. Like King I believe that Israel has the right to defend themselves. When Israel, retaliates they always get a bad rap for killing civilians but Hamas use them as shields to protect themselves. You can not blame Israel, they use precise means of defense to get rid of the terrorist threats. Unlike Hamas who seem to use an opposite approach. A ceasefire has been called but how long will it last?

As we remember all that King accomplished in his fight for equality, let us fight for the right for Israel to exist!

Life of Thomas has been tagged! (again)

I have been tagged again, but this time it was by Scott McQueen at Just a Thought! He's got a pretty nice blog where he shares his thoughts about life and God. If you get a chance please visit his blog. When you are tagged you have to share random things about yourself.

1. I don't know what it is but I have a strange likeness for rubbing alcohol. Just like the smell. I guess it was all that time in hospitals...That weird?

2. Love old Kung Fu movies, with bad sound, dubbing, the worst it is, the better!

3. One of my favorite books, growing up was the Lord of the Rings series. Tolkien created an awesome fantasy world. I would recommend reading it.

4. Speaking of the Lord of the Rings my one doctor use to call me a Hobbit because of how short I was, I had no problem with this because the Hobbits are what saved Middle Earth, even though they were small they had a lot of heart.

5. I just recently learned that Tolkien and C.S. Lewis were friends. Tolkien helped Lewis convert to Christianity, he was an atheist. Pretty neat how they are both very good authors in my opinion and they were friends. It must be true, great minds do think alike!

6. My favorite sports team is the Philadelphia Flyers. I got to meet them back in 2001 when I was diagnosed with myelodysplasia syndrome. I was at CHOP and the Flyers were opening an art gallery for the kids at the hospital. I drew a picture of Ron Hextall who was a Flyer's goalie and I got to meet the whole team, it was very cool. I had a smile from ear to ear the whole time! Was cool being able to talk to these guys being such a fan as I am. I got my Flyers Jersey signed by the whole team! Sadly only one player is still on the team since than guess that's how sports are nowadays... Can anyone name him?

7. Here are the blogs I have tagged...(it is ok if you don't want to participate)

Shipwrecked!

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." [Jeremiah 29:11 NIV]

If you've been following my story, you know that I have been through quite a bit in my 25 years. From being diagnosed with cancer three times, diabetes, dialysis, and other health problems, it's hard to know what is in store for us. My best advice is to stay strong and trust in God.

There is a story told of a shipwreck survivor who washed up on a deserted island. After he had been there a few days, he built himself a hut and prayed to God for rescue. Each day he anxiously looked out over the horizon as he waited for God's deliverance in the form of a passing ship. One day, after returning from a hunt for food, he discovered that his hut was consumed in flames. He was devastated and believed it to be the worst thing that could have happened to him on the island; everything he had was gone. The next day however, a ship arrived and the captain said,"We saw your smoke signal!"

Sometimes, when it seems our whole world is crumbling, it is difficult to believe that God is at work on our behalf. But just when we think all is lost, God unfolds his plan and teaches us that he had it under control the whole time.

Friends, God's ways are not our ways, his thoughts are unlike our thoughts; his plans are so much bigger than we could ever imagine or dream. Let Him work in His unique way and watch as His beautiful plan is revealed in your life.

Keep praying, but be thankful that God's answers are wiser than your prayers!
-William Culbertson

It may sound weird but I look at all my sicknesses and illnesses as a blessing. Without them I would never know how much God, family, and friends love and care about me. I don’t think I would respect life the way I do now because of everything I have been through. All the problems I have endured have made me the person I am, and it helps me realize how blessed I really am! God has truly help develop my character through it all, for it is written,

"But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold." [Job 23:10 KJV]

May the Lord shine his face upon you!

The Two Choices We Face

Since we are starting off the new year I thought I would quote Mr. Jim Rohn. Jim Rohn is one of America's foremost business philosophers, his seminars have a span of over 40 years. He has addressed over 6,000 audiences and over 4 million people worldwide! I find his words to be very motivating, may Jim's words now affect you like it did to so many around the world.

"Each of us has two distinct choices to make about what we will do with our lives. The first choice we can make is to be less than we have the capacity to be. To earn less. To have less. To read less and think less. To try less and discipline ourselves less. These are the choices that lead to an empty life. These are the choices that, once made, lead to a life of constant apprehension instead of a life of wondrous anticipation.

And the second choice? To do it all! To become all that we can possibly be. To read every book that we possibly can. To earn as much as we possibly can. To give and share as much as we possibly can. To strive and produce and accomplish as much as we possibly can. All of us have the choice. To do or not to do. To be or not to be. To be all or to be less or to be nothing at all.

Our ultimate life objective should be to create as much as our talent and ability and desire will permit. To settle for doing less than we could do is to fail in this worthiest of undertakings. Results are the best measurement of human progress. Not conversation. Not explanation. Not justification. Results!

And if our results are less than our potential suggests that they should be, then we must strive to become more today than we were the day before. The greatest rewards are always reserved for those who bring great value to themselves and the world around them as a result of who and what they have become
." by Jim Rohn
